1. New smartphones galore
Before the Galaxy S10 launch —herersquo;s everything we know about it already via Android Authority — a couple manufacturers have jumped early.
A quick wrap of the Large new apparatus from Vivo and Xiaomi:
Vivo V15 Pro
Vivo has upgraded the V11 Pro out of last year into the V15 Pro.
However, at 6.39-inches, the large focus is a pop-up 32MP selfie camera on the front.
Only on the Vivo NEX, this elevating camera, together with the in-display fingerprint detector, provides an appearance with a Super AMOLED screen.
There’s a 48MP camera and the most recent mid-range processor, the Snapdragon Qualcomm 675 SoC, around $407 USD to get a 6GB RAM/128GB storage model, with an 8GB option too.
This is going to be widely popular in China and India, and in which Vivo spends a fortune on advertising, focusing.
Xiaomi Mi 9
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is more of a powerhouse, packaging in the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, jointly having a 48MP triple camera for under $500.
It’s another 6.39-inch apparatus, with a Samsung-made AMOLED screen and a little notch.
It also packs a dedicated button to Google Assistant, and Xiaomi states it’s ranked two points under the Huawei Mate 20 at DxOMark scores, scoring 112 for photographs, because of the premium Sony IMX586 image detector.
It has more purposeful and gimmicks features. But no headphone jack, though.
The Mi 9 will proceed head-to-head with the V15 Pro, again in China and India sporting additional premium features, beginning at around $446 for the default (6GB of RAM and 128GB storage). There’s a compact Mi 9 SE, with and smaller more specs.
Xiaomi concentrates more.

What’therefore this mean?
These new devices aren’t simply taking on the flagships, but they do their very best to create the iPhone range, as an instance, seem unnecessarily expensive in these markets.
But the early V15 Pro review, plus video review by Gary Sims, reveals many of the lingering issues these devices have since they cut corners to keep prices down: the V15 nevertheless has an ancient micro-USB interface, it uses non-Samsung and non-Sony screen and image sensors, and while the rear-camera is strong, the selfie camera characteristic isn’t even great, “AI” camera attributes don’t necessarily work as you might anticipate, and the telephone applications is unappealing.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 now – at least the premium models – will probably be aiming to get a more high-end refinement throughout the board, also new features and innovations. Plus it’ll come at a cost – longer on it tomorrow.

2. Razer: Layoffs might mean no Razer Phone apparatus? (Android Authority).
3. Android Authority’s big novel of smart phone firsts! (AA). (This is my colleague Joe Hindy lifetime ’s function – and that he doesn’t even overlook that Nikola Tesla was the first man to think of a smartphone back in 1926!)
4. Samsung’s One UI is the ideal applications it’s ever put on a smartphone (The Verge).
5. Google says the built-in microphone it never advised Nest users around was ‘never supposed to be a key ’ (Business Insider).
6. Google’s Game Developer Conference press educates came with a teaser, perhaps because of the Project Stream in-browser game streaming service (AA).
7. Additionally, Signal had to take to Twitter to beg somebody at Google to respond to a Play Store issue (Twitter). (The Google response was somewhat peculiar, too.)
8. New Bloomberg report indicate Apple is targeting combining iPhone, iPad and Mac Apps from 2021 (Bloomberg).
9. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 modem is the 4G/5G alternative we’ve been waiting for (AA). 40 downloads within X50.
10. This ’s challenge: Write a program to play the sport Snake, and combat the others (battlesnake.io).
11. “AT&T is currently hoping to sweep its 5G E is located under the rug” (The Verge).
12. A commercial flight hit an absurdly fast 801 mph or 1289 km/h when flying across the US because of the jetstream. It didn’t even break the sound barrier, since it was at fast-moving air (Jalopnik).
13. Amazon Studios reportedly has ‘Lord of the Rings’ writers at a locked office with a protector and fingerprint scanner (Gizmodo).
