Porsche is offering new functions to the 2020 Taycan, including some that surfaced at the 2021 version year, via a free software upgrade that is now being published.

However, this isn’t an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade as it actually requires paying a trip to the trader, following being contracted by or contacting Porsche. The approach is anticipated to take two business days to complete, and if required, owners will find a loaner car.

Some of the novelties which come with the upgrade are somewhat more advanced navigation system, with in-depth traffic and lane-specific information, and simplified looking for charging stations inside and out the official Porsche system.

The charging planner could be pre-set to a specific condition of charge for DC rapid charging, or so the machine can be left alone to decide when to block the procedure. Charging power can also be dropped from 270 to 200 kW for each session to maximize battery life and functionality.

Wireless Apple CarPlay a part of the relaxation improvements, and automobiles equipped with the optional ambient light can alter the color based on the music playing through the speakers.

Automobiles containing the flexible air suspension is going to be upgraded with the Smartlift feature, which can raise the nose at high driveways or speedbumps. These locations can be stored in the machine so the Taycan can raise its front end automatically.

The driving dynamics and functioning of the electrical sedans is going to be improved courtesy of their recalibrated software for the control units responsible for the powertrain and suspension. The optimized chassis control, which enriches slide control, will make it possible for the Taycan Turbo S to sprint from 0 to 124 mph (0-200 km/h) in 9.6 minutes, 0.2 seconds faster than previously.

The Functions on Demand (FoD) feature is going to be offered as well, albeit through over-the-air updates. The Power Steering Plus, Active Lane Keep Assist and Porsche InnoDrive will join the Intelligent Range Manager, which was the only available FoD for the 2020 Taycan. The function can be bought or taken out to get a monthly subscription. The latter choice will include a three-month trial period, and after determining what works they want, owners will obtain the data package in the vehicle through the cell phone system, together with activation said to take only a few minutes.
