Porsche’s first all-electric sports car might be the most hotly likely vehicle of 2019. Even Tesla owners are more addicted.

In a recent interview with CNET, Porsche North America president and CEO Klaus Zellmer stated if everybody who has put a deposit to pre-order the car really buys it, the Taycan will likely be sold in its very first year of creation.

Who are these early booking clients? According to Zellmer, more than half have not possessed or don’t have a Porsche. More especially, Zellmer reported these potential clients are coming from Tesla .

The quotation from CNET:

Usually, if we examine our source of company, people coming from other manufacturers, it’s Audi, BMW, or Mercedes. The no. 1 brand today is Tesla. This ’s pretty fascinating, to find that people that were curious about the Tesla for very good reasons obviously don’t quit being interested.

Zellmer didn’t share any amounts or additional details, however. It’s uncertain how many deposits are produced or the amount of all Taycan vehicles Porsche will finally produce each year. Porsche previously planned to make approximately 20,000 Taycans each year. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume informed WirtschaftsWoche in November that demand for the Taycan motivated the automaker to boost production capability without indicating by how much.

The Taycan is supposed to launch in the end of 2019.
