Aussie Police Add Tesla Model X To Victoria State Highway Patrol Fleet

Police in the Australian state of Victoria have only added a Tesla Model X Long Range to their Highway Patrol fleet.

It is not unusual for police forces Down Under to use eye-catching performance vehicles, but most of the times they are only used for promotional purposes and exhibited during community events. However, this Model X is in fact a fully-functional patrol car and is being utilized in a handful of regions throughout the state.

The outside of the all-electric SUV has been coated in an eye-catching blue, pink, and bright yellow hue. There is also a light bar in the roof, different red and blue flashing lights integrated into the front fascia and even colored LEDs on the borders of the rear “falcon” wing doors. There’ll be absolutely no mistaking that this Model X to get every other on nearby streets.

Tesla is functioning with Victoria Police along with a multitude of third-party providers to find the SUV equipped with all the latest gear required for patrol responsibilities.

“This vehicle is similar to any other Victoria Police has had in its fleet and may well be the future of street policing within this nation, country and the planet,” street policing control assistant Stephen Leane explained. “It is very important to bear in mind that this is a concept vehicle for Victoria Police and we acknowledge that it will produce several special conditions and will continue to evolve as authorities applications is integrated. ”

Police forces around Australia use a choice of unique vehicles to get their respective fleets, including the Kia Stinger, VW Passat, BMW 5-Series, BMW X5, Chrysler 300C, Holden Commodore, along with many others.
