China’s eighth Type 055 destroyer is being painted in a shipyard at Dalian, indicating it is close to being established, according to reports.
But experts say it could take up to five years for of the destroyers made for China’s aircraft carrier strike groups to become combat-ready.

China is expected to establish an eighth guided-missile destroyer intended for the navy’s aircraft carrier strike groups later this calendar year, according to reports on mainland social networking sites.
