Consumer Reports Names The Chevrolet Camaro And Colorado The Least Reliable Cars In America

Consumer Reports has introduced its Annual Auto Reliability Survey that found lots of automakers have improved over the past year.

While the publication has publicly criticized Tesla previously , the company’s visibility has risen from this past year. Consequently, both the Model 3 and Model S have received the coveted “Recommend” rating.

According to Consumer Reports’ senior director of auto testing, Jake Fisher, “The Tesla Model 3 struggled last year as the company made frequent design changes and ramped up production to meet demand. ” However, as “production we’ve noticed improvements to the efficacy of this Model 3 and S that enable us to Recommend both models. ”

The information wasn’t good for Tesla as they ranked 23rd out of 30 in visibility. The Model X was one of the cheapest vehicles at the poll.

The most dependable vehicles were assembled by Japanese automakers. Lexus took the top place with an average predicted reliability score of 81. They have been followed by Mazda and Toyota, which tied in 77. Rounding out the top ten were Porsche (75), Genesis (71), Hyundai (69), Subaru (68), Dodge (63), Kia (62) and Mini (59).

Cadillac came in dead last with an average predicted reliability score of 23. This usually means the luxury brand performed worse than Alfa Romeo (27) and Acura (29). Other lackluster brands contain Volkswagen (33) and Jeep (35).

Volkswagen dropped nine spots from this past year and the company was hauled down from the Atlas along with Tiguan that have considerably worse than average reliability. The publication says problems comprise “electricity gear and [the] fuel system. ”

Redesigned models were responsible for a number of drops reliability and Consumer Reports cited the Acura RDX in Addition to the Audi A6 and Q8. Other new models that are debatable incorporate the Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra 1500 and the BMW 3-Series and X5.
