Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche to Step Down in 2019

Dieter Zetsche, who has led Daimler to the past 12 decades, will resign from his article in 2019. Replacing him will be Ola Kalleniusresearch and development boss.

Zetsche’s career with the company spans way back to 1976, when he worked in the research section of what was afterward known as Daimler-Benz. Though he started off as a engineer, he held many board positions from the 1990s and later moved into control. He’s led Mercedes-Benz Cars since 2005. In 2006, he was appointed chairman of the board of direction of the DaimlerChrysler.

Underneath Zetsche’s observe, Mercedes become the planet ’s best-selling luxury car manufacturer. This title was achieved by it and was able to maintain it ever since. The management change comes as Daimler starts some changes. The company  is restructuring itself into three units: cars, trucks, and mobility services.

Zetsche’s term will end in December 2019. He will will succeed Manfred Bischoff as chairman of the board, but won’t happen to comply with a ldquo;cooling-off period. ”
