Daimler will melt generation in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Alabama because of a parts shortage.
The factory in Tuscaloosa County was one of the first U.S. automobile factories to reopen after being forced to shut to limit the spread of this coronavirus but based on Bloomberg, would be shuttered this week.
An inner notice viewed by Bloomberg revealed that the site will be closed because of a lack of components provided from Mexico. Employees have been given the option to use vacation time or go without pay and file for state and national unemployment benefits.
“Due to various country-specific regulations and their impact on global supplier websites, we anticipate a temporary disturbance,” Mercedes-Benz affirmed in a statement.

Daimler claims that the factory will make-up for its pause in production June 29 through July 1 if the factory had been around for a summer shutdown. The Tuscaloosa plant assembles the C-Class, GLS, and GLE.
The Alabama factory last month later simmer for five weeks.
While some automobile factories in the United States have been given the all-clear to re-open, such as Tesla’s site in Fremont, California, it remains unconfirmed when automobile firms in Mexico will be able to reopen. With that said, the nation said on May 15 it might permit the automobile industry to resume operations from using this week as long as companies have the correct security protocols in place. Details of the requirements needs to be released soon.
