E-Tron All The Things: Audi Reportedly Prepping 20 EVs For Launch

The Audi e-tron is off to a relatively slow start as the provider just managed to market 678 units from the United States last month. Despite those small numbers, the organization is planning to establish an assortment of other electrical vehicles such as manufacturing versions of the Q4 e-tron along with e-tron GT theories.

But they can be just the tip of this iceberg as Auto Express is reporting that the company is “fast-tracking” a plan to establish 20 electric vehicles from the center of the next decade. Many of the versions are said to be higher-end versions, but there will also be choices that were economical.

One of them will reportedly be a tiny electrical hatchback that prices approximately £30,000 ($36,475 pound & /;33,125). This would allow it to be marginally pricier than the Volkswagen ID.3 that will be released next month.

To keep down costs, the version will undoubtedly be heavily influenced from the ID.3 and journey on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. Despite this, the hatchback could have unique styling inside and outside.

Given its position as a luxury vehicle, the hatchback would probably eschew the ID.3’s entry-level 45 kWh battery and also be provided exclusively with bigger 58 kWh along with 77 kWh batteries. They could permit the version to have a selection of between 250-320 miles (402-515 kilometers ) on a single charge.

The hatchback may be found in 2021 and be provided with an optional front motor.  The version would be given a bit of a performance boost plus drive by this.

The report also mentions a R8 successor that would be electric. This isn’t the first time we’t heard these rumors, however, the publication says Audi’s technical advancement manager, Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler, informed them small, sporty two-seaters might have a unique battery pack that a broken up into several sections.

This could remove the packaging difficulties of fitting a battery underneath a small motor vehicle. It’s thought Audi could use this alternative for the successors for both the TT and R8.
