Tesla CEO Elon Musk is now en route to Shanghai to attend Made-in-China Model 3’s forthcoming delivery event at Gigafactory 3.
Tesla China has announced that the next batch of MIC Model 3 deliveries will be held on Tuesday, January 7. Contrary to the very first batch of deliveries in GF3 in December, which involved handovers to Tesla employees, clients will be involved by the deliveries. Considering that Musk is to Shanghai, it looks like the CEO will make an appearance at the event.
As stated by Tesla owner-enthusiast @JayinShanghai, Musk’s Gulfstream G650 private jet removed from Los Angeles International Airport before today. The G650 that is carrying Musk is currently flying roughly 13,000 feet greater and 80 mph quicker than a China Eastern Boeing 777 jet that removed before his private plane. Musk is anticipated to arrive in China in time to its Model 3 shipping event.

Reports have suggested that Tesla has produced roughly 1,500 Model 3 per week. But, Tesla China has revealed that it has ramped Gigafactory 3’s output signal to some run-rate of 3,000 cars a week. Tesla has also reduced the cost of this Made-in-China Model 3 to make it even more attractive to local buyers.
General Manager of Tesla China Allan Wang has no doubts that the electrical vehicle maker based in Palo Alto, California will triumph in China. “The requirement to our locally-built Model 3 is very excellent. On the agenda in the upcoming event together with the Model 3’s public handovers will be supposed to be an announcement concerning Model Y production at Gigafactory 3. The Model Y is set to begin production in the United States shortly and deliveries are due to launch shortly afterwards in Summer 2020. The Model Y and Model 3 share 75% of the exact parts.
