Elon Musk embraced comparisons of him and “The Simpsons” supervillain Hank Scorpio on Twitter.
“Ok fine I’m Hank Scorpio,” Musk tweeted in response to a fan.
Scorpio, a maniacal supervillain hell bent on world domination, features in the Simpsons episode “You Only Move Twice,” and at the episode’s climax attacks his enemies with a flamethrower.
In 2018, Musk made headlines after selling 20,000 of his Not-a-Flamethrower devices for a total of $10 billion.
Musk has frequently been the subject of jokes about secretly being a supervillain thanks to his innovative, often wacky, new devices and gadgets, such as the Not-a-Flamethrower, and the new Tesla Cybertruck.
