Tesla is increasing the cost of its”full self-driving” applications by roughly $2,000, its CEO Elon Musk announced on Thursday.
The price of the helped driving add-on will rise on Monday, October 26, to $10,000.
It follows that the limited beta launch of the applications on Tuesday.
Tesla has raised the cost of its”full self-driving” attribute, which isn’t actually fully autonomous, several occasions in years past and Musk has said that it will eventually cost more than $100,000.

Tesla is going to increase the price of its”full self-driving” applications by about $2,000, CEO Elon Musk announced on Thursday.
The cost of the helped driving add-on will jump Monday, October 26, Musk mentioned on Twitter. The price hike will use to new vehicles and updates to automobiles clients have already bought.
Following the price hike, the tech will cost $10,000.
It follows that the limited beta launch of the applications on Tuesday.
Despite the name of the feature, full self-driving isn’t fully autonomous. It’s an assisted driving addition to many Tesla vehicles, and can navigate highways, change lanes, and park your own car. Tesla has warned drivers to just use it if they pay attention to the street and keep their hands on the wheel.

At a follow-up tweet, Musk seemed to signify the cost would just increase in the US.
The rollout of the attribute will probably be”extremely slow & cautious,” Musk tweeted Tuesday, and was delayed because the electric car business”had to rewrite everything.”

This is simply the latest in a series of cost increases for the technology. Tesla raised the cost $1,000 in November 2019, and then again in July.
Musk has warned that the cost will continue to rise as the software gets nearer to full self-driving capability. He anticipates the last cost to become “in excess of $100,000.”
In April, Musk hinted payments to the tech could proceed to some monthly subscription model at the end of 2020.
Formerly, Musk has described his full self-driving attribute as”an investment in the future” and also something which would”pay off to the consumer.”
“Buying [full self-driving] is something people will not regret doing,” he said in April.
