Tesla owners in the U.S. and Canada may finally receive that free Spotify Premium integration that they ’ve been asking.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted late Wednesday night the Spotify superior integration is currently “coming. ” Musk, who’s talked about attracting Spotify to owners in North America before, didn’t offer a timeline. In other words, the audio streaming service can be integrated next week or six months from now.

But still, it’s a moment of celebration for most Tesla owners who have complained about Slacker Radio, the streaming audio service integrated into all vehicles at the U.S. and Canada. Automobiles in Europe, Australia and Hong Kong have had Spotify Premium in their vehicles since late 2015.

Slacker Radio, which launched in 2007, has customizable radio channels dependent on the listener’s private music preferences. The complimentary and subscription-based service also tried to differentiate itself from the likes of Spotify along with Pandora by using DJs into curate programs and, at once, even sold a portable music player. Despite its efforts, Slacker was overshadowed by Spotify, which had 232 million monthly active consumers and 108 million paying subscribers in the end of June 2019.

Slacker was obtained in 2017 to get $50 million in cash and stock from LiveXLive, an entertainment and streaming service that focused on live audio performances.

Last year, LiveXLive declared a partnership using Dash Radio, a digital radio broadcasting platform with over 80 first live channels. Under the deal, Dash stations will be available round Slacker Radio, a movement intended to attract more live radio into the streaming service.
