EVs outsold the manual transmission for the first time in the US

The timing is now upon us. It s a bit odd to see although we all knew this day was coming. The manual transmission is going to die off, as will the internal combustion motor and both will be replaced using EVs. While the entire world hasn’t move fully-electric only the EV has dispatched one of them — the guide.

As demonstrated by a recent report by Driving.ca, who recently talked with J.D. Power, the manual transmission was conquered by EVs from the next quarter of the calendar year, a industry first.

Within an email with Driving, Tyson Jominy, Vice-President, PIN Consulting of the Data and Analytics Division at J.D. Power, stated “[Manual transmissions] happen to be on a nearly century-long decrease and while no rational person thinks the trend will ever reverse, it was intriguing to note that only this year, following nearly a decade on the market, EVs were able to transcend last century’s dying technologies,”

To be honest, I’damn amazed it took this long. There have been a few EVs on sale for years and manuals are currently dying off more and more every year. With cars like the Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, BMW i3 along with Tesla Models S, 3 and X (See exactly what Elon did there? He’s clever, right?) , you’d imagine that EVs would at least be more popular than the manual transmission. While we love manuals, automakers can’t cease selling them quickly enough because nobody will buy them.

Plus it’s only going to get worse because of fans. More and more EVs are currently coming to market and also they ’re getting better and better. They’re also coming from a growing number of automakers, both cheap and expensive, economical and luxury. So that the transmission is much closer to burst than ever before and if you want one, get one now. You might not get another chance.
