German Tesla Gigafactory to make 500k cars a year?

It’s been shown that Tesla plans to build up to 500,000 electric vehicles at its fresh Gigafactory at Berlin, Germany. According to Bild, the plant will produce 10,000 jobs, and records demonstrate that the facility will be as big as 420 football fields.

Construction of this Gigafactory is scheduled to start in 2020, together with Tesla manager Elon Musk identifying a site at Gruenheide, Brandenburg, since the location. The American automaker may also set a technology and design centre in Berlin near the capital town ’s airport.

More importantly, the factory will manufacture batteries, powertrains, and cars beginning with the Model Y crossover, Musk said. Even the Model 3 auto, its best-selling model, will be built there later, sources say. Tesla will reportedly invest up to 4 million euros (RM18.5 billion) in the plant, according to a German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The Berlin Gigafactory is going to be the fourth largest facility in the company’s portfolio, together with the latest being Gigafactory 3 that is situated in Shanghai. The other two Gigafactories Can Be Found in the US, especially in Buffalo, New York, and Storey County, Nevada.

Do note that the above US websites don’t insure vehicle production. These are devoted to providing solar products and battery packs. Instead, Tesla’s vehicle creation in the US is handled from the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California, which makes the Model S, Model 3, Model X, also is being ready to Create the Model Y.
