The Idaho State Police published dashcam footage showing a trooper walking off unscathed after an oncoming driver slammed into the wreck scene that he was exploring.

The incident happened on October 8 near Idaho 53 and Ramsey Road, together with ISP Trooper Enrique Llerenas responding. According to police, the tow truck driver wasn’t the sole accountable for the wreck, but rather the driver of the red Toyota Tacoma.

“The tow truck was eastbound on SH 53 if a Toyota Tacoma failed to return and hauled into the truck driver path from Ramsey Road,” ISP reported Wednesday. “The crimson Toyota Tacoma’s motorist has been cited for failing to obey a traffic control device. ”

Passengers in Idaho need to adhere to some so-called “move over” legislation, which requires one to slow down and move over, if at all possible, if approaching a stationary authorities or authorized emergency vehicle with flashing lights, as reported by the Idaho Statesman.

As per a report by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 11 officers were fatally struck by automobiles while standing to the side of the road in first half of this year alone. Meanwhile statistics demonstrate that 775 officers died between 2017 and 2005 by being struck or in crashes while on duty.

“Help keep our place ’s first responders safe! Proceed, please slow down, and listen when approaching catastrophe vehicles/incidents,” stated the ISP in a tweet.
