While it is the Tesla Model 3 Performance that’s got the hype since the newest ’s entry-level EV reach the marketplace, the all-wheel push Model 3 Long Range is also an outstanding performer.

Had the opportunity to put it through its paces at Germany. Much like the flagship Model 3 Performance, the Long Range variant contains two electric motors, one in front and one in the back.

This leads to a total of 346 hp and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm) of torque, down from the 450 hp and also 471 lb-ft (639 Nm) provided up from the Performance.

But rsquo that &;rsquo & s doesn;t imply that this variant is slow. In fact, the reviewer performs a plethora of acceleration runs in the EV and it builds speed with impressive pace. Independent testing has proven the car can reach 60 miles (96 km/h) at a brisk 4.0 minutes, approximately 0.8-seconds slower than the Performance.

As its name implies, the Long Range provides better scope, albeit maybe not. In the U.S., its EPA town, street, and combined ranges are in reality identical to the Model 3 Performance.  Elsewhere, it is excellent for 348 miles (560 km) around the WLTP cycle in comparison to your 329 miles (530 km) of their Performance. Underneath NEDC testing, the range sits in 385 miles (620 km).

Premium cars in Germany must be able of long jaunts down the Autobahn so a lot of the review concentrates on seeing the way the Tesla works in such conditions.
