On December 20th, a few ’s Audi R8 they had only bought three months ago was stolen from outside their house in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Their dashcam seized the entirety of the burglar ’s joyride on movie breaking all sorts of laws in the procedure.
In the movie, the thief is shown ditching his Ford Fusion to the few ’s Audi R8, in which he then proceeds to drive it hard all around Newcastle. He shows a blatant disregard for road safety laws (even though what can you expect?) , also makes many speculative moves, such as forcing down one way streets, bottoming out over speed bumps and gutters, and illegally passing on blind corners, as well as speeding because he often exceeded 160km/h (100mph).

The thief pushes the vehicle to his buddies ’ house, where we all listen to an error beep because of the overheated clutch, cooked wheels, and broken rear strut caused by his own reckless driving. That rear strut finally spelled disaster for your thief, as the tire marks left from the rear wheel dragging on the ground were exactly what the authorities utilized to trace him down. At some point, the thief is seen driving the vehicle into a backyard, where he scrapes the wide Audi on the fencing ’s narrow gate.
And when all of that wasn’t poor, the complete damage due to the joyride was estimated by owner Luke to be approximately $100,000, based on Australia’s 9News.
As soon as the couple realized their car was missing, they notified police and were able to track the car thanks to a helpful people on Facebook. According to DriveTribe, the owner of the Vehicle was quoted writing:
“On the 20th December, a guy hurried out of an RBT on Scenic Drive- breaking into homes, leaping fences, and hiding from police. After he reached the house, he found the keys on our Audi R8 parked in the garage. Here is the complete dashcam footage of the gut wrenching 30 second joyride he required prior to damaging the vehicle beyond repair and dumping it in a home in Windale. It’s an absolute miracle no one was injured with the erratic way this lowlife was forcing our Supercar, and we were fortunate enough to come across the vehicle with the help of the Facebook community. ”

Likely unaware of the dashcam, the thief looked as though he believed he’Id gotten away with it. However, three times after this entire ordeal happened, police detained 49-year-old defendant Darren Johns on charges of car theft, reckless driving, unlicensed driving, and breaking and entering (into some house where he stole over $60,000).
