A physician has dubbed Lana Del Rey’s net face mask as useful as ‘drawing with a magic marker’.
The Video Games singer was the subject of strong backlash on Saturday, October 3, after she attended a book signing at a Los Angeles Barnes & Noble sporting a mesh mask, at a time when everyone in town is forecast to wear masks when interacting with individuals outside their households.
It sparked pleas by fans to wear a suitable face mask, as well as tweets like: ‘Lana Del Rey wears mesh masks since she was Born to Die. ’ A physician has finally weighed on her choice of PPE, and their advice is exactly what you’Id expect.

Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, a medical teacher at the University of California in San Francisco, clarified to Billboard which Lana’s mask is completely unsuccessful.
He explained: ‘I am not quite convinced that it would stop any spread of COVID-19. It seems intriguing, but you don’t must be a wise virus to get through that mesh. You could be the dumbest virus also it would be simple to get through that mesh. ’

Chin-Hong additional: ‘The holes are so large in the mesh which you might as well be wearing nothing. I can draw a mask on my face with a magic marker and it would have precisely the identical efficacy for a mesh mask. ’
He compared Lana’s alternative to masks worn by Lady Gaga at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards in August, none of which conveyed any risk to those near her, since they really covered her face.
