Lucid reveals how many Air Dream Edition models it sold before closing reservations



Lucid Motors revealed earlier today to Teslarati that it sold roughly 500 Air Dream Edition all-electric sedans prior to closing bookings to the general public. The automaker announced yesterday that it had officially closed bookings for its flagship edition of its launching sedan.

Teslarati received word in the Lucid Motors spokesperson who shed light on the recent closing of Air Dream Edition bookings. The spokesperson revealed to us that the company received “about 500 bookings ” for its Air Dream Edition before choosing to finish the opportunity to preorder the car.

“Loaded with luxury. The Dream Edition #LucidAir is currently officially fully booked,” the company wrote yesterday in a Twitter posting. Lucid is advocating people reserve the Air Grand Touring edition, which will be one step beneath the Dream Edition sedan.

Officially unveiled in September 2020, the Lucid Air was the automaker’s opening vehicle which was released to compete with a few of those highest-performing EVs available on the marketplace. Its main competitors would ideally be the Tesla Model S, since the Air Dream Edition equipped higher projected scope evaluations than the all-electric sedan from Tesla.

Lucid has worked to deliver the Air in 2021. Initial deliveries were proposed for ancient 2021, however, the company recently announced that it was delaying creation and subsequent deliveries of the Air Dream Edition before the second half of this year because of a bottlenecks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production can start almost anytime because Lucid has already completed the initial stage of its Casa Grande, Arizona manufacturing centre. Lucid says it will be able to construct 30,000 units annually this year and 400,000 total cars every year beginning in 2028.

Lucid recently obtained approval to expand the mill for Phase 2. This will eventually open the doors to the Project Gravity SUV, a car that Lucid triumphed toward throughout the September 2020 unveiling of the Air.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition begins at $161,500. For those who wish to experience the most Lucid Air’s luxury design with a less expensive price tag, the organization provides three additional variants that price as small as $69,900.
