Man caught on camera using knife to vandalize Tesla in Conifer

CONIFER, Colo. — FOX31 has obtained video which catches the minutes that a guy uses a knife to vandalize a woman’s Tesla in the midst of a grocery store parking lot.

The victim said this is not the very first time she has been targeted at driving a Tesla.

The movie shows a guy using his hood up and hands inside his pockets walking up to a Tesla, flicking a knife blade and doing thousands of dollars in damage.

“It was shocking. Why would a person do this? I was shocked. I’t had the car half a year,” Regina explained. “I must replace both automobile panels and they estimate the cost to be $2,500. ”

We spoke to the sufferer, Regina, who wishes to conceal her identity. She went grocery shopping on 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Safeway in Conifer and came outside to locate her car stereo.

“There was also that huge scrape on my car,” she said.

Her 2019 Tesla Model 3 is equipped with eight cameras that caught clear images of the man. Regina said she does not recognize the suspect. She also said in the six months she owned her Tesla, she’s experienced more forms of harassment while driving her car.

“I’ve pulled up at a stop light, someone honked their horn at me and had given me a thumbs down – pointed to the car and given me a thumbs down,” she explained.

Back in October of this past year, 57-year-old Maria Elena Gimeno turned himself into authorities after movie of her vandalizing a Tesla in Broomfield went viral.

Now, Regina is currently hoping someone.

“It’s just kind of folks would have that kind of hate or aggression or anger over a car. It’s car,” she explained.

The cameras on Regina’s Tesla also seized the defendant’s license plates. That information along with the footage also have been turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. If you realize the guy, contact law enforcement.
