While designing is surely an issue of personal taste, it must be stated that both sedans have a totally distinctive way of styling. The Mercedes EQS and the Tesla Model S feature entirely different powertrains. The EQS can be found in two trims – EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC – both of which can be powered with a Permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM). The former includes one electric motor on the back axle, which makes it rear-wheel driveway just. The latter is stronger with two electric motors on both front and rear axles, which makes it an all-wheel push sedan. The EQS 580 4MATIC can sprint from 0-100 kph in only 4.1 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS doesn’t try to go overboard with amounts but has very usable functionality and range.
The Tesla Models S can be found in three variants – Long Range, Plaid and Plaid+ – with all three comprising an all-wheel push system. The base Long Range version includes dual motors, one attached to each axle, and is already stronger than the top-spec version of the EQS. The Plaid and Plaid+ variants arrive with three electric motors and create a whopping 1,006hp. That places the Model S miles before the EQS in terms of performance.
The Tesla Model S gets the advantage over the EQS in terms of functionality and scope.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS derives it’s power from a 107.8 kWh Lithium-Ion battery. It can provide a driving range of 770km on total charge in accordance with the WLTP cycle. Nevertheless, Mercedes has not yet provided detailed variant-wise range selections for the version. The EQS includes a conventional onboard charger of 11 kW with an optional 22 kW charger. However, it will encourage DC fast charging of 200 kW, and using that 15 minutes of charge time will provide you a range of up to 300 kilometers.
The interior of the EQS clearly shouts outside luxury and opulence.
The Tesla Model S includes a slightly smaller 100 kWh Lithium-Ion battery package. The Long Range version includes a maximum assortment of up to 663 km, while the more powerful Plaid trim offers a range of 628 kilometers. The EQS has greater range than both the Long Range and Plaid versions of the Model S. However, the Plaid+ has a maximum assortment of up to 837 km on a single charge, which is 67 kilometers greater than the claimed range of their EQS. As for fast charging capability, the Model S supports up to 250 kW. Here the Models S comes with an over all edge over EQS on newspaper.
The Model S on the other hand has rather techy and futuristic interior.
Though the Tesla Model S obviously gets the upper hand concerning functionality and driving range, the Mercedes EQS will appeal to buyers for it is sheer luxury quotient. Additionally, it is no less tech-laden than the Model S, barring some characteristics you’d rather not have in a car. Basically, both cars will appeal to different group of buyers.
