Mercedes tries to catch up to Tesla with its all-electric SUV




Following decades of rumors which Mercedes-Benz could launch an electric version into a high-end marketplace which has so far been dominated by Tesla, the German car manufacturer finally showed a major card in its hand on Tuesday as it unveiled its own plans for a zero-emission crossover SUV known as the EQC.

The automobile is going to be the very first in its own EQ lineup —”EQ” significance”electric intelligence” — and will start production in 2019 using an expected 280-mile electric selection.
