New York will join the list of nations indicating an end to new gasoline car sales, as a statement banning their sale following 2035 has progressed through the legislature. It now heads to the governor’s workplace at which it is predicted to be signed up.
This bill makes New York State the next US state to pass on a gasoline car ban legislatively, supporting Washington which put a 2030 goal. California and Massachusetts also have set 2035 goals for the end of gasoline car sales, although those nations made their commitments through executive action by their respective governors, Newsom(D) and Baker(R).
