Nissan shifts EV strategy to premium vehicles, not ‘discount cars’ like Leaf

Under new leadership, Nissan would like to reclaim its leadership. However, it’therefore going to downplay electric cars such as the Leaf hatchback. Instead CEO Makoto Uchida needs Nissan EVs to have high prices that could bring higher profits, long selection, and features. The new strategy will start with a fresh pure-electric crossover SUV, depending on the Ariya concept, that would sell in Europe for its equivalent price between $55,000 and $78,000.
