Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff requested compassionate release from prison because of terminal kidney failure as well as other”chronic, serious medical conditions,” such as hypertension and cardiovascular illness.
The 81-year-old has so far served 11 years of the sentence, as his official release date is Nov. 14, 2139.
Madoff pleaded guilty to 11 federal counts of fraudulent investment schemes in 2009. He confessed to conning billions of dollars over the span of decades from tens of thousands of his clients.

Epic Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff asked a federal judge Wednesday to give him a”compassionate release” from his 150-year prison sentence, stating he has terminal kidney failure and not as 18 months to live.
