Porsche has partnered with Berlin-based startup Kopernikus Automotive to utilize driving technologies for vehicles at rsquo & the marque;s workshop at its Ludwigsburg facility.
The aim of the venture is to enable vehicles to drive from their parking space to the lifting platform and back again. The one thing workshop mechanisms will need to do in order to transfer the vehicles is control them.

In regards to the pilot program is that the vehicles are not controlled only with the help of other sensors positioned during the workshop, but also thanks to sensors, what & rsquo; s especially interesting.
“This really is a move away from sensors in the car to sensors in the outside environment, and a move away from relatively stiff programming to data-based intelligent systems,” job director for Automated Driving at the Porsche workshop, Alexander Haas clarified.
Porsche claims the system means repairs can be performed more cost-efficiently and faster. The test enables Porsche to collect important information on artificial intelligence-based autonomous driving, with the carmaker believing that in the futuretechnologies may be used at ports, in logistics, also in car parks.
It took Porsche and pros from Kopernikus Automotive less than 100 days to roll-out the autonomous method at its workshop at Ludwigsburg. Vehicles were driven autonomously over one million test km before being analyzed in real-life.
