Tesla may be the standout player in the EV space at the moment, but that may not be the case for long. While several startups aspire to break into the current market, as well, During the upcoming few decades, most recognized automakers plan to present their very own cars. Among the most fascinating of those startups will be Rivian. We got a look in its first two vehicles, a pickup truck and an SUV, at the Los Angeles car show this year. But Rivian’s vehicle sounds like it’s going to be particularly cool.

Speaking with Autocar at the series, RJ Scaringe, Rivian’s founder and CEO, stated the newest ’s third entry is going to be a rally-inspired performance car. And while he didn’t specifically mention Local Motors, the car he explained sure sounds like an electrical version of the impossibly cool Rally Fighter.

the Rivian interpretation of a rally car with a lot of ground clearance,” stated Scaringe. He also explained its functionality as “bananas. ” That stated, it won’t function as some sort of hardly street-legal race car. Scaringe stated he considers all Rivians ought to offer a “mix of on- and – off-road functionality, and a degree of that’so unique in its distance. ”

And since Rivian assembles its vehicles on a skateboard-like electrical platform, Scaringe asserts the startup can construct all kinds of cool cars.  “You could construct an R1T truck or a merchandise delivery van, or a shuttle bus,” he explained.

We may be more interested in the pickup truck that is 800-hp, however we could admit commercial vans and buses have their own charms. This Rally Fighter-like EV has piqued our interest, and we don’t even have to wait to see it.
