SpaceX is currently in the practice of attempting static-fire the first fully-assembled Starship model as much as four hours before a Falcon 9 rocket’s schedule Starlink launch.
After SpaceX chose to scrub a November 22nd launch attempt for obscure “additional assignment pledge ” and then preempted a November 23rd backup to wait for greater Atlantic Ocean recovery weather, Starlink V1.0 Flight 15 (Starlink-15) is scheduled to launch no earlier than (NET) 9:13 pm EST (02:13 UTC), November 24th.
Simultaneously, SpaceX is just three hours into a five-hour window for Starship serial number 8’s (SN8) next triple-Raptor static fire attempt, considered to be one of the final tests required before the gigantic steel rocket is deemed ready for its 15 km (~9.5 mi) launch introduction.

Starlink-15’s November 22nd launch attempt was sadly called off soon before propellant loading was first scheduled to begin. A backup window on November 23rd included a higher risk of recovery weather violations, likely causing SpaceX to delay November 24th, where weather predictions are currently 80% go with a moderate (down from “high”) risk of unfavorable recovery weather.

Following Crew-1 Falcon 9 booster B1061 was apparently almost knocked off of its drone ship with a sizable swell throughout November 15th, it’s no enormous surprise that SpaceX is becoming a little more careful about recovery weather on its second launch.

While B1061 was exceptionally important due to the simple fact that it’s advised to become the first commercial reusable rocket to launch astronauts early next year, Starlink-15 Falcon 9 booster B1049 remains significant in its own right, as the assignment will be its seventh launching – first for SpaceX. In the business ’s own words, B1049 will turn into the Falcon booster flight leader, including substantial importance to its successful landing and healing.
As usual, SpaceX will host a formal Starlink-15 launching webcast, starting around 9 pm EST (02:00 UTC) if the assignment stays on course.
