Tesla Begins Deliveries Of The Model Y

Tesla isn’t understood for hitting deadlines, but the company has delivered the first Model Ys before schedule.

At a tweet, the automaker confirmed the news and released a brief video showing the crossover being built and driven.

Essentially a Model 3 on stilts, the Model Y is anticipated to turn into one of Tesla’therefore top-selling vehicles thanks to its blend of practicality and affordable pricing.

Speaking of the latter, the Long Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive version starts at $52,990. The version could accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.8 minutes and reach a top speed of 135 miles (217 km/h). More importantly, it can travel roughly 316 miles (509 km) on a single charge.

Customers may also opt for a more Performance version which starts at $60,990. It includes updated motors that enable the crossover to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in only 3.5 minutes. The top speed also rises to 145 miles (233 km/h), while the range simply drops by 1 mile (1.6 km).

Besides the improved functionality, the range-topping version has a lower suspension, high-speed brakes along with brakes. Customers may also add an optional Performance Upgrade bundle which increases the high speed to 155 miles (250 km/h).

A cheaper normal range version is slated to arrive early next season and begin at $39,000. In return for the cheaper cost, the range is going to be decreased to approximately 230 miles (370 km).
