Tesla Encourages California Owners To Charge Cars Before Power Outages

Tesla is encouraging owners around California to completely charge their cars as Pacific General & Electric reductions power to a lot of Northern California to stop wildfires.

While owners of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles have been hurrying to fill up before the power outages, Tesla owners can also be working to make sure their cars are totally charged. Fortunately, Tesla was in the region begun to get messages in their displays encouraging their cars to fully charge.

“A utility business in your field announced they could turn off power in some regions of Northern California starting October 9 as part of public security power shutoffs, which might affect power to charging options,” the concept reads,” according to Electrek. “We recommend charging your Tesla into 100 to make sure your drive stays uninterrupted. As always, your touchscreen will display statuses of Superchargers in your region tap a desirable Supercharger station to confirm its accessibility. ”

This isn’t the only matter Tesla is doing to ensuring its owners can still get about when power is switched off.

A Twitter user has confirmed that Tesla’s features enabled the ‘Storm Watch’ feature on its own Powerwall that mechanically charges that the Powerwall to maximum capability to offer backup power. Storm Watch style stays enabled until the weather event ends. The characteristic was enabled back in June due to wildfires in the state.
