Tesla takes a step closer to placing the first brick of its own Gigafactory in Europe because a German court ruled that the carmaker can resume clearing trees at the woods where it plans to build Giga Berlin.

The Berlin-Brandenburg court gave Tesla the green light to carry on its work, noting the Brandenburg authorities didn’t violate laws and didn’t take any shortcuts if they enabled work to begin in Grunheide.

State authorities gave Tesla the first go signal to clear about 90 hectares of land that will be used for the first phase of Giga Berlin. On Feb. 15 the clearing procedure was halted after a complaint has been filed by environmental team Gruene Liga Brandenburg that expressed worries on the local water source. The team appealed the carmaker must not clear trees before after March 5 when the deadline has been set to the community and concerned groups to remark about Tesla&rsquo.

The court’s decision would help Tesla keep into a proposed deadline to begin construction by mid-March. A negative decision would have delayed building by six to eight months and hazard plans to vehicle manufacturing slated for July 2021. Tesla aims to produce 10,000 Model Y crossovers per week and expected to make 12,000 job chances for Germany and neighboring states.

The ruling was considered a positive development by state Economics Minister Jorg Steinbach. “We are extremely happy to find the verdict,” Steinbach stated .

Tesla tried to address issues of local residents and environmental groups from Grunheide by opening a neighborhood center in which it held talks to notify locals that the carmaker is carrying all the essential measures to care for the environment like replanting trees three times the amount it’d cut and unloading wildlife just as needed.

Amid ecological protests, Tesla has won the aid of their financial minister and industry leaders who called for review processes in Germany so as not to delay significant projects like Tesla. They warned that these long waits may weaken the attractiveness of Germany for investors.

Government ’s Green Party also voiced with all the complaints out displeasure.

You don’t always need to be against what ,” Green Party member and Berlin’s deputy governing mayor Ramona Pop explained.
