Tesla Gigafactory 3 battery facility gets roof trusses as Model 3 fleet is spotted onsite

Footage of this Tesla Gigafactory 3 complicated in Shanghai shows that the roof trusses of this automobile maker’s battery center are complete. Pictures of what seem to be Model 3 test generation units in a parking lot hint that the large electric car production facility is prepared to begin building vehicles en masse. 

A video shot from EV enthusiast Chao Zhou of Tesla Gigafactory 3’s Phase two area demonstrates that the roof trusses of this forthcoming battery facility are basically laid out. The current video complements footage shot by drone operator Jason Yang a couple of days back, which provided a birds-eye-view of this grand job being conducted from the Phase two zone.

The conclusion of this Phase two zone’s roof trusses bodes well for Tesla’s upcoming battery center. When roof trusses were finished in the Phase 1 spot, most importantly, it just took a short time until Tesla’s construction partner began installing the facade of this overall assembly centre. Thinking about the rate of this Phase two buildout so far, it wouldn’t be surprising when the battery building will have some parts of its facade. 

It’s s not the Phase 2 area that’s making waves at the Gigafactory 3 site. Apart from the quick progress of the upcoming battery center, Model 3 manufacturing activities from the Phase 1 zone have also begun hitting their stride. First Model 3 trial generation units were seen across the Gigafactory 3 complicated in recent weeks, also at a current flyover, the most encouraging sign to Tesla’s Shanghai-based Model 3 and Model Y plant was seen.

In a parking lot at one end of this overall assembly building was a set of what appeared to be freshly-produced Model 3 units. No regional reports have explained what the vehicles were, though a great possibility is that they are nonetheless a part of Tesla’s trial production phase. A couple of Model 3 sedans were also sighted close to Gigafactory 3’s evaluation monitor , indicating that the overall assembly building is currently operational. It may not be manufacturing the Model 3 numbers yet, however Gigafactory 3’s overall assembly building. 

Local reports and teasers out of Tesla China hint at Model 3 deliveries beginning in Q1 2020.
