It’s been a week because Tesla CEO Elon Musk attended Gigafactory 3’s groundbreaking ceremony, but the location for the approaching battery and electrical vehicle factory is now ablaze with life. As can be seen in footage taken on Thursday local Shanghai time, operate on Gigafactory 3 is currently going full throttle, as evidenced by the sheer number of heavy equipment running on the site.

The recent footage of the approaching facility was shared with Teslarati from Tesla owner-enthusiast Vincent Yu, who’s currently visiting Shanghai. Taken using a drone, the brief footage shows heavy machinery busily working on a part of Tesla’s 864,885-square meter plot of land in Shanghai’s Lingang Industrial Zone. Vincent also shared several pictures taken around the property Twitter, revealing trucks apparently moving dirt in the site.

The recently shared footage from Gigafactory 3 is however a few seconds , but it does prove one notable point — once the groundbreaking service to the site was done, the building of the facility would likely proceed at a very rapid rate. China’s construction work force, after all, is known for its rapid, almost surgically-precise buildouts. Just this past year, as an example, Elon Musk lauded the country’s work on Twitter, sharing a report regarding Chinese workers building a railway station in just nine hours. Inside his post, Musk noticed that “China’s advancement in advanced infrastructure is more than 100 times faster than the US. ”

In a country such as China, though, these quick buildouts are usually accomplished with support from the government. Fortunately for Tesla, this appears to be the case, as evidenced by the nation ’s hot reception to Elon Musk during his visits to the country, in addition to the help the electrical vehicle manufacturer has obtained in procuring partial funds for Gigafactory 3 (to list a few).

Tesla, for example, was allowed to become the only owner of Gigafactory 3 — something which was not allowed to other automakers operating in the country. Reports also have emerged pointing to local banks competing to give Tesla low-interest loans to fund a part of Gigafactory 3’therefore construction. The government’s favor was evident when Tesla placed its bid to the 864,885-square meter plot of land in Shanghai’s Lingang Industrial Zone too, since the business was able to guarantee the property without any rival bidders. Finally, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd, the firm building the facility, is a subsidiary of China Construction, which is owned by the government.

This prefer Tesla was no more evident during Elon Musk’s recent visit to the country, though. Following the groundbreaking ceremony for Gigafactory 3, Musk met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing, who’s widely thought to be the country’s #2 after President Xi Jinping. During their conversation, which was held in the Tower of Violet Light in Beijing — a place reserved for distinguished guests — Li openly listened to Musk’therefore ideas for Gigafactory 3, much the harder ones such as making a facility that acts similar to a “living being. ” Li even softly implied that China can just issue Musk a “Chinese Green Card,” so that he can pursue his ideas in the country.

The span for the building of all Gigafactory 3 is tough. Tesla intends to finish the first construction of the facility through the summer’s ending. The business also intends to start the creation of affordable Model 3 versions in the battery and electrical vehicle factory by the end of the year. Now that work has commenced on the factory’s site, though, Tesla’s competitive timetable just became feasible.

Update: Vincent has supplied a broader video from his recent drone flyover of all Gigafactory 3.
