With Gigafactory 3’s Phase 1 buildout Finished, Tesla’s electric car production facility continues to evolve. Drone flyovers of this expansive Shanghai website have revealed a substation is being assembled. Sightings of workers with ABB Robotics uniforms in the area tip at departments of Gigafactory 3 being ready for the setup of robots.
Wuwa Vision (烏瓦), who has been following the progress of Gigafactory 3 because it was just an open, marshy field, managed to obtain some information concerning the substation being constructed southwest of the general assembly construction. The power station costs $12 million to construct, and it will be tasked to supply the website with power. Reports in the area hint in the substation being completed by September, in the same way the facility gets prepared for Gigafactory 3’s Model 3 production.
