Tesla “hacker” debunks sudden unintended acceleration claims

A renowned Tesla hacker has released his thoughts about the current claims of “Sudden Unintended Acceleration,” claiming the firm ’s vehicles are not effective at gaining pace on their own.

Self-proclaimed “Tesla Tinkerer” Jason Hughes was vocal regarding the firm ’s hardware problems before. Hughes has been able to make something of a career of recognizing defects in Tesla vehicles and addressing methods to mend them. But, Hughes is not a believer at the new claims that Teslas will issue some owners to unexpected acceleration and has now publically dispelled them.

Hughes took to his Twitter account to address promises and the rumors they are simply an attempt to attribute Tesla for errors the motorist may have made, or even an attempt to get attention to a website. Hughes said, “Seriously, Teslas do NOT have a sudden accidental acceleration dilemma. The engineering here is spot on. They have folks to accept responsibility because of their screw ups, plus clickbait. ”

While Hughes states that he does not hold any TSLA stock, he’s a supporter of the firm. In the past, Hughes recognized problems with all the MCUv1 hardware and also introduced them to light to Tesla owners to ponder. While he claims to have problems with some of the things Tesla has performed with their vehicles, he fails to think the company has.

In a post addressing the topics about the Tesla Motors Club discussion , Hughes stated, “Tesla’s accelerator pedal is really the exact same drive-by-wire pedal employed in a lot of other manufacturer’s automobiles. It’s a highly tech over decades. Nothing special now. No more Tesla secret sauce . Two hall effect sensors with curves for redundancy and place validation. The auto doesn ’ t move if they overlook ’ t agree. ”

Hughes considers that any difficulties with acceleration may be the fault of the motorist. “I’ve made a bicycle misapplication mistake several times before with multiple different vehicles … luckily not in any situation that was catastrophic. We re not infallible creatures. You get in a zone of habit, feel as if you know what’s happening, when something unexpected happens you’ll swear you’re doing what normally the way you’ve done it 10000 times ahead, when in fact you just screwed up. It happens,” he included about the TMC forum.

Tesla published an official statement about the Sudden Acceleration claims on Monday, January 20, also maintained they were completely untrue. Tesla has worked closely with all the NHTSA to solve any problems that come with its automobiles and data and all research have proven that the firm ’s vehicles accelerate at a proper fashion.

Hughes’ belief that Tesla’s automobiles are not capable of acceleration is much more plausible than many claims. Hughes has spent breaking and finding problems with Teslas, but he only finds no evidence that the vehicles are accelerating. “But in this case, Tesla did their assignments about the applications and hardware side really well to be certain that this would never be an issue. Kudos where due,” he explained.
