At a recent interview with Jim Cramer of Mad Money, ResMed CEO Michael Farrell noticed that his company could use some assistance from Tesla for its ramp and generation of ventilators, that have been today on account of the onset of the coronavirus. Farrell also said that ResMed can use some assistance from Tesla’therefore with respect to the acquisition of lithium-ion batteries.
While speaking with Cramer, the ResMed CEO said that his company has been ramping the creation of ventilators because it tries to meet surging demand from states. Amidst the crisis that is worldwide, ResMed is seeking production aid for approximately 500 elements that go into its ventilators, that are used for instances.
Farrell mentioned that ResMed is fielding offers for help from many of the industry’s automotive and aerospace companies, and Tesla happens to be one of these. Asked from the Mad Money sponsor if ResMed has been in talks with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Farrell noticed that although Tesla has provided its aid, his company could use additional aid with lithium ion batteries.

“We’ve had supplies from Tesla, from a number of other automotive makers, from a number of the biggest aerospace companies on the planet and protection companies which can aid with o-rings, screens, and screws,” Farrell stated, although he didn’t explain how Tesla’s batteries could be used.
In terms of Elon Musk and Tesla’s current wave of contributions to hospitals across the United States, that are included in lower-end, non-invasive BiBAP machines, Farell said that such functions are well appreciated. The ResMed CEO also emphasized that it might be “fantastic” to have in moving goods companies help.

“Look, Tesla can help us with batteries… I presume it’s amazing what Elon did. He went up and bought everything I would call bi-level, nonstop ventilators out of a platform of ours from five years before, out of Asia, and brought 1,000 of these over to New York…If there’s product out there and you may go that for us, that’s amazing,” the ResMed CEO stated.
Amidst the coronavirus pandemic entities have made it their mission to lead in the struggle against the virus. GM and Ford are currently collaborating to produce the breathing machines. Medtronic has declared that it’s working with Tesla for its creation of its own ventilators too.
