Tesla Model 3 makes BMW racer squeal in delight while riding shotgun in hot lap

BMW enthusiast and AR-G Motorsports boss Daniel Rose had spent a Terrific weekend at the Laguna Seca Raceway, Together with his Group proving victorious at the United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC). After the event, one of his AR-G BMW M3 race car drivers, Doug Makishimadecided to shoot his private Tesla Model 3 Performance to get a few laps around the monitor. Just for fun, ” he invited Rose to ride shotgun.

After extreme driving sessions at the team’so called racecars, Makishima and Rose’s lap working with the Model 3 Performance was likely to be a lighthearted, fun lap. The Model 3 owner even fired up the electrical vehicle ’s music. And the Tesla shot the line, and before he knew it, the experienced BMW enthusiast and motorsports boss believed himself becoming pushed back into his seat. As the Model 3 Performance smoothly glided and hastened in full force from a curve, Rose started laughing. No, squealing is actually the accurate term, as he graciously mentioned at a later Facebook comment.

Over the course of the Tesla Model 3 Performance’s two laps around the trail, Rose seemed almost like he was at a roller coaster — only having fun with the car’s insane stride and quickness, and marveling at how implanted the Model 3 was despite its weight. As can be found in the video, both passenger and driver had a grand time ripping throughout the monitor. Rose’s wife, who later viewed the video, even commented that she’s never heard that her husband react that positively to a vehicle before.

Being racecar drivers, both men really ended up establishing a new record for stock electric cars in Laguna Seca. Prior to the run, the listing for a stock EV in the course has been 1:46.8. Makishima and Rose recorded 1:46.1 and a 1:46.5 in the Model 3 Performancealong with a passenger, also with all the music on.  What is quite remarkable is that the 2 men handled an impressive lap with a bone stock automobile. Even the Model 3 Performance needed OEM tires, and its tire pressure wasn’t even adjusted for closed circuit driving. Since the conduct was ran late, the temperature on the trail was also lower than favored. The automobile did not encounter issues , save for a brake temperature caution.

Quite reluctantly, Makishima’s winning streak in his custom-built AR-G BMW M3 racecar was tagged at 1:37.9 in the USTCC’s Super Touring (ST) class. That’s a bit thinner than the period set by a Tesla Model 3 Performance with upgraded brakes and suspension which has been powered by Mountain Pass Performance owner Sasha Anis, that finished a lap at 1:37.5. Grantedthe record-setting Model 3 Performance was fitted with slick tires whereas Makishima’s AR-G BMW M3 racecar wasn’t, but the performance of the 2 vehicles appeared to be amazingly close.

It seems that Elon Musk wasn’t kidding when he said Teslas are, outside being incredibly safe and well-designed vehicles, tools of pleasure.

Watch a longtime BMW enthusiast and racer adventure the Tesla Model 3 Performance round the track in the video below. Please do perform the video with the sound on (It’s really worth it).
