Tesla Model 3 Wrecked By Lane-Changing Truck In Colorado

Shocking footage has surfaced on the web revealing the second a enormous semi-truck side-swiped a Tesla Model 3 from the U.S. last year.

This video was recently posted on this Wham Baam Teslacam channel on YouTube and reveals that the incident happened on a tollway at Colorado. Though the vehicle driver was to blame for the crash, it could have been easily averted.

As the front-facing camera of this Tesla shows , it was coming a large semi-truck in the right lane. Suddenly, however, the trucker merged to the lane being inhabited by the Tesla. The vehicle slams into the face of this Model 3, shattering its passenger-side dividers and sending it into the border at which its driver, Aaron Smith, was able to gallop around the cable hurdles before coming to a halt.

Pictures taken of this Tesla after the crash show that both the passenger doors were scratched and dented heavily by the vehicle. The passenger-side front wheel was ruined, as was the front bumper. Unsurprisingly, the narrator of this video states that the Tesla was made to be a complete loss.

Could the wreck have been averted? Yes. If you re-watch the clip, then you’ll notice that the trucker had his turn sign on and was looking to turn to the left lan, so maybe the Tesla motorist could have backed off the throttle to allow the truck in. Not that this is any excuse for the vehicle driver, who must have taken more attention when shifting into the left lane. Had they seemed in their own mirrors, they would have seen the coming Model 3.
