Tesla Model Y owner experiments with possible third-row seating options

Tesla owner and enthusiast Brian Jenkins of the i1Tesla YouTube channel experimented with all the potential setup of the Model Y’s “yet to be ascertained ” third-row seating orientation. With plenty of speculation about whether the seats would probably face backward or backward, Jenkins failed his own experiment and even recruited some courageous participants to determine which seating structure was comfortable.

Jenkins, who’s a favorite YouTube station with many curiosity-invoking topics for Tesla owners, then analyzed the Model Y’s third-row simply by eliminating a seat in the next row and also put in a DIY third-row seat. Installing the seat was simple and required just a little test topic to check both directions’ effectiveness.

This isn’t the first time Tesla owners have experimented with all the potential third-row seating structure for your Model Y. In earlier times a YouTube channel known for Tesla videos run by DaErik analyzed the Model Y’s third-row option with removed seats in the Model X. DaErik analyzed the seats together with the orientation being rear-facing. The seats did fit but given a little bit of legroom when the back hatch was closed. This could likely only be appropriate for kids, young teens, and potentially tiny adults.

So far as the actual design goes, there’s absolutely no evidence of how the back row will confront in the Model Y. Some indicate that the unveiling event for the Model Y, that showed that the third row as forward-facing, will ultimately be the layout which Tesla will go with. However, the business has surfaced with rear-facing jumpseats in past models. In reality, Elon Musk’s Model S had those rear-facing jumpseats, and he employed them at a cross country drive along with his kids back in 2014.

Back in mid-October, Musk stated that the Model Y’s seven-seat option, which could entail a third-row setup, could start production in early November, and initial deliveries could then begin in December. There is no word on if the seven-seater Model Y manufacturing has started, but based on Musk’s estimations, it probably has. Whether the seats will be forward-facing or rear-facing remains to be seen, and we’ll probably learn if first deliveries begin during the previous month of 2020.
