The Tesla Model Y Performance has officially arrived at Munro and Associates office in Auburn Hills, Michigan, as automotive sector veteran Sandy Munro and his team begin their whole teardown of the new all-electric crossover. Munro given the teardown would include a complete disassembly of the vehicle starting from the inside of the car.
The teardown enables Munro in his team to thoroughly assess Tesla’s by analyzing the car from its parts’ standard to its build quality. Additionally, Munro explained that his team would be extremely focused on four chief elements of the motor car. Included in these are the batteries, electric vehicle motors, inverter/converter system, and the wire harness.
Munro’s reddish Model Y was delivered from California to the Munro office on March 30, 2020. Munro provided his impressions of the car on the next day by complementing the build quality of the crossover. “In years past we’ve thrown rocks at exactly what Tesla came out together, but I will tell you right from here…this [automobile ] appears in good shape. ”
Munro did take his gap gauge to the crossover and noticed an intense improvement in the vehicle’s build quality compared to Model 3. Upon review, front driver and passenger doors were indistinguishable from all angles which Munro measured.

There was a slight discrepancy of just one millimeter between the two doorway ’s “sills,” or at which the bottom of the door meets the frame of the car, but Munro notes that the gap would only be observable to some of the most educated eyes. This led to the automotive veteran equaling Tesla about the enormous improvement in the fit and finish between the Model 3 and Model Y.
The gaps found above the Model Y’s bulbs were flawless and suggested that a perfect space allowing Munro to provide credit once more.
There were a few gaps that Munro advises Tesla to work on, but he had been glad that he received an early variant of the vehicle since it would enable the Silicon Valley-based carmaker to make improvements as time went on. “I’m sure that [Tesla] will start things that are tuning in, as I had been sure the Model 3 could begin pruning matters in. Again, all in all, not bad he explained. “For a early-stage solution, this is pretty good. ”
The remaining portion of the process of the Model Y will consist of flow events that are live from the Munro headquarters. On Wednesday, April 1, MunroLive will officially kick off its very first live stream using a comprehensive analysis of the car, as he will finish a further breakdown of the Model Y from its own fit and finish to its renewable system.
On April 14a live flow of a quick disassembly of the car will begin at 8 A.M. EST. “Our crew will work around the clock until the Model Y is totally disassembled. The team will dig into the intricacies of the batteries, HV electronic equipment, thermal systems, and user friendly interface,” MunroLive.com notes.
