After reopening its Fremont factory, Tesla is now reportedly facing Model Y grade issues, with new buyers refusing deliveries and in certain instances, Tesla actively trapping deliveries because of quality defects.
In fact, many new Model Y buyers told Electrek that Tesla delayed delivery of their new car due to said defects. Some of them include loose seat belts and back seats that aren’t connected to the foundation.
This difficulty couldn’t have come at a worse time, even together with Tesla attempting to improve its revenue numbers. Coincidentally, last week Elon Musk explained that decreasing rectifications in Model Y production is a top priority.

Although it is not strange for some carmaker to battle off quality problems during a production ramp-up, what’s reportedly occurring with all the Model Y goes far beyond that. Tesla may wish to consider taking a bang this past year for the intent of focusing on quality control for your Model Y. This would of course mean additional delays, however it s better than delivering an unfinished item.
Electrek even mentioned a Tesla proprietor in Maryland who had to deny delivery due to problems that comprised “paint and cut problems, indentations in the seats and a loose seat buckle,” to go with all the previously-mentioned back seat.
