Tesla Sentry Mode captures most senseless attack against Model 3 to date

Considering that Tesla rolled out Sentry Mode, the safety feature has seized its fair share of shocking events, from deliberate keying strikes to arbitrary acts of vandalism. Yet, even one of the alarmingly high number of videos depicting events, one Sentry Mode footage from your Model 3 has taken the cake just for the utter senselessness of the vandalism involved.

Here’s how things occurred.

Jose Rivas‘ Tesla Model 3 was parked using a Dodge SUV at a Wawa parking lot in Richboro, PA once the driver of the gas-guzzling car approached his car whilst taking two cups of coffee and a carton of milk. Before putting one of the coffee cups the man started glancing round his pockets for his keys.

The man could be observed eyeing the sedan, while this was happening. This would have been a time for your man to notice that the Model 3 screen was displaying an alert saying that its suite of cameras was footage around the car or truck. For the Dodge owner, he did not appear to observe the message about the Model 3 screen.

So, as he discovered his key and was going to enter his Dodge SUV, the man did something which has been uniquely trivial and senseless at exactly the identical moment. Just before he entered his car, drink in hand, he return to the Model 3 and threw some coffee on the sedan. He drove off and then backed up.

The man s Dodge SUV because entrance license plates are not mandatory for vehicle owners in the area was not equipped with a license plate in front. Therefore, it would be quite difficult to monitor the man who perpetrated this act of vandalism against the parked Tesla Model 3.

What’s rather surprising about this incident is its pointlessness. Together with other Sentry Mode videos which have gone viral, an individual can argue that there was likely some envy involved because the perpetrators were with old vehicles which have seen better days. This was not true in this event, since the guy ’s Dodge SUV is very new and cared for.

While the number of all Sentry Mode movies being shared online could be interpreted as Teslas being targeted in parking lots, it should be mentioned that acts of vandalism happen to alternative vehicles, especially those from top brands. Teslas just happen to have a safety system which allows footage to be recorded around the car. And so far, no automaker has outfitted their vehicles that were exclusive with such a feature.
