Tesla Signs New Deal With Panasonic For Lithium Ion Battery Cells

Tesla and Panasonic have entered into a new three-year arrangement for the manufacturing and distribution of lithium ion battery cells in the carmaker’s Gigafactory at Nevada.

Both companies were in talks to expand their battery joint venture’s capability, together with these brand new batteries maybe featuring a higher capacity reports Autonews Europe.

According to Tesla, this arrangement sets the conditions for production capacity commitments by Panasonic and buy volume commitments by the EV-maker over the first couple of years.

Tesla also amended conditions and the terms for this partnership, changing the word to expire 10 years following Panasonic will achieve manufacturing landmarks. At exactly the same time, while Panasonic doesn’t stand since Tesla’s battery provider , the Japanese company was able to turn around its U.S. joint battery business despite rising demand for new Tesla versions.

Talking of new versions, Tesla is currently in discussions with Texas officials for its Austin Gigafactory, which is meant to manage generation for its Cybertruck, as well as to supply that the Model Y with another site in the U.S.

As you may have heard, there have been major issues reported concerning the Model Y with respect to build quality. Yesterday we learned that several new Model Y buyers also have refused delivery due to defects like loose seat belts, improperly connected back seats and paint and cut problems.

Musk recently told workers that among Tesla’s priorities is to lessen rectifications in Model Y manufacturing, while up things.
