Tesla to install canopies for a ‘solar test house’ at its Fremont factory

Tesla has programs for fresh tent-like canopies for a “ solar evaluation home ”’s setup at its factory, according to a different building permit issued by the City of Fremont.

The description noted in the first filing, Tesla is currently looking for “two canopy covers over evaluation that is solar house” that measure 60 ′ & approximately 60 ′ x 80 ′ x 70′. The arrangements will be removed after two months and temporary.

While there’s ’s no indication regarding the purpose for the canopies, CNBC suggests that the canopies are supposed to conceal research and development on its solar evaluation home by prying eyes, and watch over the project from possible delays because of rains.

Seeing progress from the attempts of Tesla to set up more Solarglass rooftops brings it yet another step closer to mass producing the next version of the solar roofing tiles. Similarly developments can help Tesla capitalize California’s new building requirements that require houses to own solar systems. The state is the very first in the nation to require solar panel installations.

Based on the 2019 Building Energy Standards in California, the solar requirement increases the expense of constructing a new residence but has the capability to save taxpayers about $19,000 in energy bills and maintenance costs . Tesla began accepting orders for its V3 Solar Roof at October and Musk disclosed that it intends to eventually install 1,000 solar roofs.  Interested homeowners that want a Solarglass rooftop may use the organization ’s online configurator to gauge the costs. The estimated prices for a 2,000 sq. ft. roofing with 10kW solar is 33,950 following a federal tax charge of $8,550.

As of 2018, there are just 15 to 20 percent of California single-family homes with solar panels set up based on the quotes of the California Building Industry Association.
