Tesla is dominating the electric car market in China but this past year, it is forecast to face unprecedented challenges from its rivals.

Even the China Passenger Car Association speculates that Tesla might sell as many as 280,000 vehicles in the country next year, spurred on by the simple fact that the Model Y being assembled at Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory is draining the final regulatory stages before earnings of it start next year.
