Tesla’s Elon Musk produced one last stop during his German tour to meet with Volkswagen boss Herbert Diess. The two frontmen to their respective automakers are known buddies, and Diess provided Musk a trailer of Volkswagen’s forthcoming lineup of electric vehicles.
Musk and Diess traded praise concerning every other throughout the Golden Steering Wheel awards in Berlin, Germany, last year, in which Musk was presented with an award won by the Tesla Model 3. Ever since that time, it’s been reported that Musk and Diess have retained a close connection, using the Tesla CEO admitting he is supporting Volkswagen’s electric initiatives.
Musk credits Diess especially, and according to a report by Handelsblatt of some recent interview between the two men, Volkswagen and Tesla could be preparing for a much closer connection. Diess also revealed the ID.3 and ID.4 vehicles Musk, together with the Tesla CEO taking the prior car around for a spin.

The ID.3 and ID.4 are two of Volkswagen’s vehicles which can use the company’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix, or MEB. The German automobile company has acknowledged that it has fought with the consistency and operation of their MEB because introducing it in the company’s lineup.
But, Musk and Diess’ connection has been based on accelerating the popularity of electric vehicles altogether. Musk has suggested in the past that the company’s only rivals are people that continue to manufacture cars which will harm the environment.
