Tesla is currently continuing its own hiring ramp for Gigafactory Berlin’therefore dedicated battery cell production centre, with the electric automobile maker submitting a job listing for a Battery Material Engineer recently. These efforts are underway regardless of the center ’therefore licenses still being pending.
Tesla’s efforts to hire workers for its forthcoming battery center have been going on for some time. Back in November, Tesla Senior Vice President of Powertrain and Energy Engineering Drew Baglino posted a few battery-related project openings for Giga Berlin on his LinkedIn page. Tesla has also released recruitment videos for its forthcoming battery plants, such as one in Gigafactory Berlin.

According to information from Brandenburg, Tesla hasn’t filed an application for its planned 4680 battery cell production plant near Gigafactory Berlin yet. In an announcement to Berlin.de, Brandenburg’s Economy Minister Joerg Steinbach verified that while it is sure the battery centre will be constructed at Grünheide, the permits which will be necessary for the facility are not yet been ironed out.
Steinbach noted that so far, there is still uncertainty about whether Gigafactory Berlin’s battery life should have a permit that’therefore based on building legislation or the federal Immersion Control Act. “For this, detailed files would have to be available,” Steinbach said.
Tesla is still constructing Gigafactory Berlin through a series of early approvals. This has provided the business with opportunities to construct elements of the EV factory quickly, but it has also enabled the project to be open to opposition, such as the ones extended by local conservationists about Tesla’therefore tree-clearing activities. Luckily for Tesla, reports have emerged indicating that Gigafactory Berlin’s closing permits would likely be issued soon, maybe at late January or early February.
Gigafactory Berlin’s construction has ruffled some feathers, particularly the ones of Free Voter MP Philip Zeschmann, who accused the authorities of exerting political influence to the undertaking ’s acceptance procedure. Steinbach, for his part, denied this notion, notifying Zeschmann to prevent such accusations.
