Back in August, Musk tweeted,”Nuke Mars,” replicating a sentiment he uttered on”The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” in 2015. At the moment, Musk said striking Mars with thermonuclear weapons could warm Earth.

“We’re establishing cargo flights to Mars that people can count on,” he explained in June 2016. “The Earth-Mars orbital rendezvous is only every 26 months, so there’ll be one in 2018; there will be another one in 2020. And I think if things go according to plan, we should be able to launch people probably in 2024 with the arrival in 2025.”

Musk revealed this timeline in 2017, though he did not satisfy his timeline to ship a cargo flight to Mars in 2018.

“I think most likely the form of government of Mars would be a direct democracy, not representative,” he explained during the Code conference in 2016. “So it would be people voting directly on issues. And I think that’s probably better because the potential for democracy is substantially diminished.”

And that he is not only interested in people surviving on Mars. He’s a flourishing city to exist.
