The 2020 Chevy Bolt EV now has 259 miles of array, a 9% growth from previous year versions of the hatchback, as stated by the EPA.

The business focused on mobile chemistry, not the battery pack to get there.  Even the GM brand didn’t include more battery cells or change the battery pack or the way a spokesperson confirmed.

Rather, Chevrolet’s battery technology team created what the firm described as “impactful adjustments. ” The adjustments to the mobile chemistry allowed them to squeeze range out of their battery, and allowed the team to improve the power of the mobile electrodes.

The growth pushes the 2020 Chevy Bolt ahead of the Kia Niro as well as the range plus variant of this Tesla Model 3, with 240 and 239 miles of scope, respectively. Other variations of this Model 3, the long-term and performance, have a more 310-mile range. It s only one mile greater than the range Hyundai Kona EV. Nissan Leaf Plus, the laggard in the group, may travel 226 miles on a single charge.

Which may not look like much. But in this small, yet growing pool of electrical vehicle models, leaping from 238 into 259 miles can help Chevrolet sell more Bolt EVs next calendar year. This past season it may also cannibalize revenue.

The vehicle has never been a top seller for its GM brand, especially compared to its SUVs and trucks. It has beat out some of its Chevy versions and sales are large enough for your company to stick with the compact hatchback for now.

GM delivered 23,297 Chevy Bolt EVs in 2017, the model year of the motor automobile that was electrical. But deliveries fell 22%. Sales have rebounded in the first half of this year.

Later this season, is expected to arrive in dealerships. The base cost of the electric vehicle is 37,495, which includes freight and destination costs. Tax, title, license and merchant charges are excluded.
